CHD Jalkavach, literally 'water armour', is JSW's super premium hydrophobic cement for markets where moisture protection needs to be built in, not applied on. Using the same advanced Turbogel technology as the Waterguard range, it forms a protective barrier inside the concrete matrix that pushes water away on contact, much like water sliding off a lotus leaf, instead of letting it seep in and slowly weaken the structure.
Independent rilem tube testing puts Jalkavach's water absorption at just 0.1 ml, compared with 3.2 ml for OPC, 1.9 ml for PPC and 1.6 ml for PSC - a dramatic reduction that directly means less dampness, lower corrosion risk for embedded steel, and stronger resistance to mould and fungal growth over decades of use. It's the natural choice for basements, foundations, water tanks, reservoirs, retaining walls, roofs, tunnels and coastal or marine structures, anywhere a building's biggest long-term enemy is water.
