CHD Waterguard is JSW's super premium hydrophobic cement, engineered using advanced Turbogel technology to build water resistance directly into the concrete rather than relying on a surface coating that can wear off. It forms a protective internal layer that repels water much like a lotus leaf sheds moisture - keeping structures dry and strong from the inside out.
In independent rilem tube testing (an experiment to measure water absorption), Waterguard absorbed just 0.1 ml of water, dramatically outperforming OPC (3.2 ml), PPC (1.9 ml) and even PSC (1.6 ml), a difference that translates directly into less dampness, less corrosion of embedded steel, and far greater resistance to mould and fungal growth over the structure's life. That makes it the clear choice anywhere water exposure is a genuine risk, like in basements, foundations, water tanks, pools, reservoirs, retaining walls, roofs, tunnels and marine or coastal structures, offering A-level of built-in waterproofing that ordinary cement simply cannot match.
